This comprehensive review, based on more than 20 scientific sources, reviews chemical constituents, antibacterial mechanisms, in vitro and in vivo studies, clinical applications, comparisons with other agents, recent research including nanotechnology, side effects, and research suggestions. The results show that compounds such as glycyrrhizin, glabridin, and licoridin have potent anti-caries effects by inhibiting biofilm, reducing acid production, and disrupting bacterial adhesion. Clinical studies, including the use of lollipops and mouthwashes, confirm a significant reduction in S. mutans in children and the elderly.However, there are limitations, such as potential side effects and the need for long-term research. This review suggests that licorice could be part of preventive dental strategies, especially in combination with modern technologies چکیده گیاه شیرین بیان (Glycyrrhiza glabra) به عنوان یک داروی گیاهی با سابقه طولانی، خواص ضدمیکروبی قابل توجهی علیه باکتری‌های دهانی، به ویژه استرپتوکوکوس موتانس (Streptococcus mutans)، عامل اصلی پوسیدگی دندان، نشان داده است. این مقاله مروری جامع، بر اساس بیش از ۲۰ منبع علمی، به بررسی ترکیبات شیمیایی، مکانیسم‌های ضدباکتریایی، مطالعات in vitro و in vivo، کاربردهای بالینی، مقایسه با عوامل دیگر، تحقیقات اخیر شامل نانوتکنولوژی، عوارض جانبی و پیشنهادات تحقیقاتی می‌پردازد. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که ترکیباتی مانند گلیسیریزین، گلابریدین و لیکوریدین با مهار بیوفیلم، کاهش تولید اسید و اختلال در چسبندگی باکتری، اثرات ضدکاریس قوی دارند. مطالعات بالینی، از جمله استفاده از لالی‌پاپ و دهان‌شویه، کاهش قابل توجه S. mutans را در کودکان و سالمندان تأیید می‌کنند. با این حال، محدودیت‌هایی مانند عوارض جانبی بالقوه و نیاز به تحقیقات طولانی‌مدت وجود دارد. این بررسی پیشنهاد می‌کند شیرین بیان می‌تواند بخشی از استراتژی‌های پیشگیرانه دندانپزشکی به ویژه در ترکیب با فناوری‌های نوین باشد. /downloadfilepdf/469838
